I'm a Carnegie Fellow in Instrumentation at the Observatories of the Carnegie Institution of Washington. In addition to instrumentation, my primary scientific interests involve understanding the formation and evolution of the Milky Way and its satellites.

I've recently finished commissioning the Carnegie Planet Finder Spectrograph (PFS) for the Magellan telescopes, primarily with Steve Shectman and Paul Butler. I am currently working on the design of the Michigan/Magellan Fiber System (M2FS), a multi-fiber optical echelle spectrograph, with Mario Mateo as Principal Investigator. I am also involved with several smaller projects, including the upgrade of the IMACS low dispersion prism and prototype testing of mirror actuators for the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT).

As a graduate student at the University of Virginia, I worked with Steve Majewski on various projects related to Galactic structure and built the Fan Observatory Bench Optical Spectrograph.
